Bless the big furry fella, he looks more GBDR than LBDR (along with Max!) so sad to end up at the pound though, wondering where his family are.

SITUATION Dogs reactions
Person casually walks past dog while dog is eating (meal or special food) Barney shows no unwanted behaviours around food
Person tries to pick up bowl while dog is eating (meal or special food) Once the food bowl is lifted up Barney stops eating and shows no unwanted behaviours
Person tries to pick up food that has fallen to floor while dog is trying to reach it Barney moves slowly towards the treat but once it is cover he ignores it and walks off
Person tries to touch or take away high value food that dog is eating or holding Barney showed no interest in a bone at all
Person tries to touch or take away a toy that dog is playing with Barney appears to show no interest in toys at present
Person reaches hand towards dog Barney loves attention and has no problem with hands
Person reaches over dog’s head Same as above
Person tries to put on leash and/or collar Barney shows no unwanted behaviours he can become a little excited but this is just because he wants out of his kennel
Person grabs at dog’s collar or neck Barney is very excepting of having his collar grabbed
Person pulls on dog’s collar or neck Same as above
Person hugs dog around neck

Barney rolls straight onto his back and lifts his arms up for belly rubbing as soon as any physical attention is given
Person pushes down on dog’s back Barney goes straight into a down and rolls onto his back, lifts his arms and looks for a belly rub
Person pushes down on dog’s rump Same as above
Person tries to get dog to lie down by voice command It takes a few attempts but Brney does go into the down and again rolls onto his back for a belly rub
Person tries to get dog to lie down by physical pushing As soon as any pressure is applied Barney goes down on rolls on his back for a belly rub
Person tries to get dog to roll over on its back by physical manipulation No issues as he does it him self
Person tries to groom dog’s head , torso, or legs (ie other than feet) Barney is very excepting of being groomed and shows no unwanted behaviours and rolls on to his back for belly rubs
Person touches dog’s feet or uses comb or scissors on dog’s feet Barney has no issues with his feet being touched
Person clips or tries to clip dog’s toenails Not tested
Person tries to bathe dog, including towelling off after bath Not tested
Person tries to open dog’s mouth Barney easily allows you to open his mouth and doesn’t show any unwanted behavioura
Person stares into dog’s eyes Barney is very reluctant to make any eye contact
Person shouts loudly near dog

Barney looks in the general direct but doesn’t show either aggression or appeasing behaviours
Person threatens dog with object such as newspaper or with hand Barney has no idea what this means
Person drops an object near dog Barney looks at the object but pays no attention to it
Stranger knocks on door or rings bell at dog's home Barney looks at the door nand moves towards it but doesn’t show any unwanted behaviours
Stranger enters house Barney goes to greet them and looks for attention
Stranger in house tries to pet dog Barney loves this and again rolls onto his back looking for a belly rub
Stranger approaches dog in car Barney showed no unwanted behaviours
Stranger approaches dog on street
Barney appears friendly towards people and showed no unwanted behaviours
Another person touches or hugs person with dog No unwanted behaviours shown
Stranger shouts loudly in dog’s presence Barney looks in the direction but is not bothered
Dog walks past familiar non reactive dog Barney pays very little interest but does try slightly to get over to see the dog but when he is stop he can show mild attention
seeking barking
Dog walks past unfamiliar non reactive dog Same as above
Dog walks past familiar reactive dog Barney will just ignore then and doesn’t show any signs of aggression
Dog walks past unfamiliar reactive dog Same as above however Barney can show mild attention seeking barking
Barney has shown no signs of aggression at all. He is very people focused and loves any attention. He will initial bark in a kennel or crate but when he is ignored he will settle down. All these behaviours were shown at the time of this assessment conducted by Shaun Aldridge (Ruff Diamond Dog Training); however these behaviours may change in different circumstances.

OMG surprised What a little STAR!!!!! love

Barney had his bath today and was an absolute angel angel He let us wash every bit of him (and me, thank you Sharon!!!! Rolling Eyes ) and he let me blast him!!!! He was an absolute JOY to do love1 (although I could have done without the shaking when soaking wet!! rofl )

What a handsome chap you are!!!! If u notice the very sodden figure in the background I would just like to point out that Barney was an angel, auntie Sharon on the other hand seemed to be aiming the hose at auntie Jo at any oppertunity!!!!!

Well done all for getting Barney all nice and handsome like ....

He a funny old boy and I sincerely hope, as with all the dogs, that is finds his forever home soon.

FYI, for those who have not seen him face-to-face, the last pic of his head is kinda to scale assuming you are looking at the pic via a 24inch monitor ..... he is a big lad and a pleasure to be around. Also an efficient eater too ... forget chewing extra large cornish pasties, he just swallows in one ! Wink
