| Dogs Name: Dylan Breed: Bullmastiff Sex: Male Age: Approx 9 mths Date: 21/05/2012 SITUATION Dogs reactions Person casually walks past dog while dog is eating (meal or special food) Dylan has no issues around food, Person tries to pick up bowl while dog is eating (meal or special food) Dylan easily allows you to pick up the food bowl and stops eating immediately Person tries to pick up food that has fallen to floor while dog is trying to reach it Dylan moves quickly towards the treat once it is blocked he moves away and responds well to the leave it command Person tries to touch or take away high value food that dog is eating or holding Dylan easily allows you to take the object way Person tries to touch or take away a toy that dog is playing with Dylan shows no interest around toys Person reaches hand towards dog Dylan actively looks for affection no unwanted behaviours shown Person reaches over dog’s head Same as above Person tries to put on leash and/or collar Dylan is very placid and remains very calm when his lead is put on Person grabs at dog’s collar or neck Dylan shows no unwanted behaviours Person pulls on dog’s collar or neck Same as above Person hugs dog around neck
Dylan is very accepting and shows no unwanted behaviours Person pushes down on dog’s back Dylan goes into the sit easily no unwanted behaviours shown Person pushes down on dog’s rump Dylan goes straight into the sit no unwanted behaviours shown Person tries to get dog to lie down by voice command Dylan knows this command very well Person tries to get dog to lie down by physical pushing Dylan easily lets you push him into the down without showing any unwanted behaviours Person tries to get dog to roll over on its back by physical manipulation Same as above Person tries to groom dog’s head , torso, or legs (ie other than feet) Dylan is very accepting of the brush and doesn’t show any unwanted behaviours Person touches dog’s feet or uses comb or scissors on dog’s feet Dylan is very accepting of his feet being touched no unwanted behaviours shown Person clips or tries to clip dog’s toenails Not tested they are black and already short Person tries to bathe dog, including towelling off after bath Not tested Person tries to open dog’s mouth Dylan easily lets you open his mouth and put yor hand inside no unwanted behaviours Person stares into dog’s eyes Dylan is reluctant to hold eye contact for more than a few seconds no unwanted behaviours shown Person shouts loudly near dog
Dylan looks in the general direction but shows no reaction Person threatens dog with object such as newspaper or with hand Dylan does no understand a raised hand but does understand a raised object, he cowers back and goes into the sit Person drops an object near dog Dylan shows slight startled response then goes to investigate Stranger knocks on door or rings bell at dog's home Dylan showed no unwanted behaviours Stranger enters house As above he may go over and look for affection but he may ignore them Stranger in house tries to pet dog Dylan is very accepting of any person Stranger approaches dog in car Dylan shows no unwanted behaviours Stranger approaches dog on street Dylan has no unwanted behaviours Another person touches or hugs person with dog Dylan shows no unwanted behaviours Stranger shouts loudly in dog’s presence Dylan shows no unwanted behaviours Dog walks past familiar non reactive dog Dylan will totally ignore the other dog Dog walks past unfamiliar non reactive dog As above Dog walks past familiar reactive dog Dylan will ignore most dogs in any situation but if he is trapped and confined he may retaliate Dog walks past unfamiliar reactive dog As above Dylan is an outstanding dog that doesn’t show any unwanted behaviours. He is very clever and eager to please. Dylan would make an excellent PAT dog. All these behaviours were shown at the time of this assessment conducted by Shaun Aldridge (Ruff Diamond Dog Training); however these behaviours may change in different circumstances.
