Male Bullmastiff thought to be 10 months to a year old

He is in a pound at the moment and his PTS date was today, he should be with us by the weekend, transport is being sorted at the moment

We do not know anything really about him apart from he seems to be people friendly

Hi, when dogs first come in, they are allowed to settle for a few days, as often they have undergone a lot of stress and changes. They then go to the vets for a check up, get any treatment if needed, vaccinations/boosters, and castration/spaying. All the dogs undergo a full behavioural assessment, completed by a qualified dog behaviourist. This allows the rescue to create a training programme, see if there are any issues that need to be considered when placing them and to help ensure they are matched well to thier new homes when they come along. This process generally takes a couple of weeks, but can be longer if the dog needs more time to settle. Its not fair to assess them if they are overwhelmed , as it may not reflect their true nature.

As a prospective adopter, fill in the Adoption application on the downloads page of the website and mail it to: lbdr.contact@gmail.com

Once the form is received a home check will be arranged. If this is successful you can then talk with the rescue about what type of dog suits you and your family and lifestyle, if any of the dogs in the rescue would be possibilities. Once this is done, then a meeting or meetings are arranged, for family members and of course any other dogs. If meetings go well, then the adoption goes ahead.

hope this helps, but feel free to ask any questions, H

Thoughts for our Dylan please, he is up at the vets at the moment,

He has not been putting on weight since he arrived, he also had a loose tummy which was very smelly, yesterday we was going to do his assessment as he was nicely settled here now but he had been sick in the night and was straining to go for a poo, was hoping that he would be better today but he did not eat his dinner last night and this morning he is still straining to go to the toilet and looks very sorry for himself

He is now under observation at the vets and will know later what they will be doing, he could have a blockage but will know more later and I will keep you updated

please1 get well Dylan
