Blu's assessment

Dogs Name: Blu Breed: Neapolitan Mastiff Sex: M Age: U/K Date: 10/02/12
SITUATION Dogs reactions
Person casually walks past dog while dog is eating (meal or special food) Blu is currently refusing to eat, but has show any negative reactions around food
Person tries to pick up bowl while dog is eating (meal or special food) Blu showed no problem with me touching his bowl or putting my hand in
Person tries to pick up food that has fallen to floor while dog is trying to reach it Blu showed no interest on food on the floor
Person tries to touch or take away high value food that dog is eating or holding Again Blu showed no interest in food at present
Person tries to touch or take away a toy that dog is playing with Blu was not interest in the toy what so ever
Person reaches hand towards dog Blu showed no reaction either positive or negitive
Person reaches over dog’s head Same as above
Person tries to put on leash and/or collar Blu became a little excited but easily allowed these to be put on
Person grabs at dog’s collar or neck Blu showed no interest
Person pulls on dog’s collar or neck Again Blu showed no interest, it appeared as nothing was going on
Person hugs dog around neck

Blu showed no appeasing or aggressive behaviour
Person pushes down on dog’s back Blu slightly resists going down then casually walked off
Person pushes down on dog’s rump Blu went into a sit after a little resistance but at no time showed any appeasing or aggressive behaviour
Person tries to get dog to lie down by voice command Blu knows this command well and went into a down
Person tries to get dog to lie down by physical pushing Blu resists being forced into a down, but again doesn’t show any aggression or appeasing behaviours
Person tries to get dog to roll over on its back by physical manipulation Blu tries slowly to get up when you try this but doesn’t show any unwanted behaviours
Person tries to groom dog’s head , torso, or legs (ie other than feet)
Person touches dog’s feet or uses comb or scissors on dog’s feet Blu has no problem with me touching his paw and will offer it when you ask him.
Person clips or tries to clip dog’s toenails Not Tested
Person tries to bathe dog, including towelling off after bath Not Tested
Person tries to open dog’s mouth Blu has no issues with me touching and opening his mouth
Person stares into dog’s eyes Blu has no issues with eye contact he will hold it for a few seconds then look away
Person shouts loudly near dog

Blu shows no interest at all
Person threatens dog with object such as newspaper or with hand Blu again shows no reaction to this
Person drops an object near dog Blu is not phased or startled by load noises
Stranger knocks on door or rings bell at dog's home Not Tested
Stranger enters house Not Tested
Stranger in house tries to pet dog Blu has been meet by alot of new people in a kennel environment and has not show any unwanted behaviours
Stranger approaches dog in car Blu again shows no negative behaviour
Stranger approaches dog on street
Blu has shown no issues with this
Another person touches or hugs person with dog Not Tested
Stranger shouts loudly in dog’s presence Blu doesn’t every look in the direction of the shouting and carries on with whatever he is doing
Dog walks past familiar non reactive dog Blu shows some interest, but no aggressive behaviours have been seen
Dog walks past unfamiliar non reactive dog Same as above
Dog walks past familiar reactive dog Blu will bark a little at them but shows no signs or aggression
Dog walks past unfamiliar reactive dog Same as above
The entire test was done pre castration. Blu appears unfazed to everything and has shown no aggressive or appeasing behaviours while at the centre. Blu appears to be a good natured dog with no apparent issues apart from his leash work. He has shown play behaviour towards me, but it was very control and in short burst. All these behaviours were shown at the time of this assessment conducted by Shaun Aldridge (Ruff Diamond Dog Training); however these behaviours may change in different circumstances.

Come on Angie once he has his tackle off he is a girl, put some lady perfume on him and Fred will love him. I know what you mean Chester wouldn't be very happy with anoth winkie in the house.

Had a lovely drag around the fields with him, SUPER stong, tried to roll in horse poo, but he spent a lot of time on his back being goofy and looking for a tummy rub. He's so playful and a big silly boy and takes food so gentley. I hope your not here for long.
