PostSubject: Lena - Bullmastiff   Sat Dec 10, 2011 2:33 am

Lena has arrived she is a Bullmastiff from a home, has had pups she travelled well here and it was a long journey with a number of changes and she was good all the way, today we will get to know her a bit more and get some photos

UPDATE

Lena is a very people friendly girl she has been around children as young as one year of age with no issues, she lived with another female dog but some issues arose recently which resulted in them having a fight, she has met the dogs at LBDR and so far there has not been one issue, she has been out for walks with the other dogs and was well behaved, we have had her in the outside pens next to other dogs and she introduced herself very nicely, she loves going in the car for a ride is not car possessive

We took Lena to the vets at the beginning of the week as we were concerned that she had hip dysplasia, after being checked by Ivan (our vet) it was decided for x-rays to be taken, to save her going under anesthetic twice we decided to book her in for a spay and for the x-rays to be taken at the same time, she does not have hip dysplasia but does have arthritis in the rear legs, there is no operation for this but with some pain killers can live a normal life, Lena loves her walks and OK will never be able to hike for miles then again many Bullmastiffs would not enjoy hours of hiking, she still had so much to offer a family that like to go out for a stroll and would love a dog to cuddle upto,

Please do not let this put you off giving Lena a home and we are willing to discuss options with the family wishing to give this girl the warm home she needs for the rest of her life
