Well, Week one with Doris is nearly at an end and so far so good!!!

She is a fantastic little girl thats goona turn into a fantastic BIG girl, but I reckon with a big soft heart! Shes been licking the cat today, though he had a swipe to let her know he had had enough- She then left him to it.

Shes ignored the chooks, a little sniff if they are noisey, but then not fussed. And with our little Buster she has a friend for life!!!!!! big smile

A tough one this! To continue to be able to foster, or to adopt one cute pooch??!!!!????!!! Hopefully she will find a really fantastic home soon, or else we may want to keep her!!!!

We hearts Doris!!!!!!

Well done all thumbs
Who can not resist that big soppy pooch, she was so sweet when we met here, I nearly piled her in our van when no body was looking.
Sounds like she is either going to be a really easy dog to train or she is clever at trying to get her own way, bless her rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

I think easy to train with a hint of trying to get her own way! Quite an intelligent girlie, all thanks to the bright sparks she is currently residing with! oh, okay, maybe not! He He

Okay, so after a week of living with Jack Russells, Doris is in denial about her own size and breed. Seems to be a bit overwhelmed by big dogs, though i think some time spent with those more her size will shake that out of her!

Currently sleeping after her mornings walk and then a visit from grandma ware. stretched out on sofa cuddled up with me and the cat having a sniff around after some attention too! (The little mutts are snoozing upstairs, the cat wouldn't be so brave otherwise!)

Good luck Lee, she didn't seem to have grasped the house training although the previous people didn't seen to being trying too hard. She had loads of fun with Doug. Look forward to some new photos.

Doris Update.

As week 2 draws to an end, she has settled really well and quite calm compared Archie and Buster!!! Still confused by the whole 'do it outside or on the pad' idea, but hey, we perceviere!!!

Can add "works well in a team" to her CV. She used brute force the other day to 'remove' the babygate to the rest of the house, leaving Archie to obliterate the post and Buster to trash the rest of the house! Judging by the trail of destruction, I'd say a good time was had by all!!!

She's grown this week and got a bit more meat on her. Was worried as she was growing upwards, but really skinny, i think she has a routine now and seems a lot better.

Rick has half term now (damn lazy teachers!!!) so I expect she'll be having lay ins and cosying up on the bed most days next week!!!!! He is such a soft touch!

I fear Rick is becoming a little too attached, or is it that I am trying to be too hard and secretly think I want to keep her! She is one perfick pooch!!!

big smile

Aw yup, she sure is a great little girl. Mastered sit (not so good on stay!) Oh and the food has worked through her system, it was bliss to pick up a steamy and solid stool (Thats sounds so wrong, but better than the food induced 'sludge' that's been pebble dashing for two days!!!)
big smile

Getting big quite quickly, so who knows what she will grow into, but as long as she stays so nice natured, then who cares!!!

Doris update: She is still enjoying living with the little men, enjoys throwing her weight around now to put them in their place :-) Working on that puppy training, still not quite mastering the art of it, but excited little face when she does pee in the garden (Mostly from me, partly doris!)

Loves her jaunts on the beach and around the field. Still a little wary of the bigger dogs, but then she spends her time with two little terriers so has a size complex.

We thought she had developed a taste for cat, though soon discovered that it is actually the bobbles on the kitchen blind she is after when we open the window to let the cat in/out. She isn't actually fussed by him at all.

After all the time and money spent with our two and other dogs on toys, chews, bones etc... Have discovered that a chunk of drain pipe works just as well and lasts for ages!!!!!

She has got quite big over the few weeks here- Probably all the additional food Rick feeds her- shepards pie, roast chicken, garlic bread etc.... At least he has learned to put it in her bowl and not feed her from the table!! yay!!!!!! (Man training going okay also!)

Fingers crossed for a home for Miss D soon, She is one gggaaaaaawwwwjus girlie :-)
