Hi guys, thought I'd better get started on the updates already!
Kobie was great in the car, settled down after just a few minutes. he walked to the local shop with us to get his mince and was very well behaved! Jack (5) is totally comfortable with him now, telling him 'no' when needed and giving him lots of praise. Michael (3) is getting there! Needs to get a bit braver, but that wont take long I'm sure.
Kobie has been really good in the house. He hasn't touched the kids toys or anything on tables or worktops (yet!). He has however left me a steaming pressie on the sitting room carpet! Naughty boy!! I think he misses his playmates at your house Sonia, he wants to play, but he's not too sure if it's OK!! I ran round the garden with him, which he enjoyed and we just had a cuddle on the floor, so hopefully he feels 'at home' a bit more.
Thanks to everyone involved in looking after him and making him available to us. We already love him so much.

Naughty Kobie... it may be a change of enviroment , as when I first got him here he had an odd accident .. but he has been totally house clean for 3-4wks now.. but saying that he did leave me a present of two this morning but I put that down to he was in the kitchen and had been out most of the day and his routine was out ...

Brilliant New the boys are warming to him and Jack Keep up the good work ... thumbs
and Im sure Michael will get there...

your Prob right he will miss his partner in crime Didius more then the other two even thought they all played nice together , he could use his weight in Didius ..

I wish you all good luck .. his a smashing dog and deserves a good home big smile

PostSubject: Update on Kobie!   Wed Jan 26, 2011 2:53 pm

Kobie is settling in so well! big smile

We had his first training session on monday...it went great. He's picking it all up so fast, clever boy! Wink

He's walking really well with just collar and lead...OK, so he's still being trained with treats, but still, hardly any pulling anymore!! I've already been able to reduce the frequency of food rewards as we walk. We've been working on 'stay', 'wait' and his recall. I'm so proud of how great he's doing. No more accident's either...horray! woohoo

The kids are so in love with him! hearts Jack has always been more confident, but michael has really come round to him now. He's getting very brave, even helping me with some basic training! Jack has been playing fetch with him in the garden. It was so lovely to watch as they were really focused on eachother. Jack was totally in control and Kobie was very pleased to get the attention.

I'm sure Kobie's already got bigger!! Will get some photos and add them in the next couple of days. Along with some other toys, i got him a 'kong'. Filled it with some softened kibble and cream cheese, then froze it. He loves it! Took him a while to realise that it's easier to keep it still if you use your paws, and to do that, you need to lay down! At one point, he had it wedged up against the sofa! His favorite is still the luminous pink dumbbell though...thank you Sonia :thanku:

Kx

He is being a very good boy. I went and visited him again today (my youngest couldnt wait any longer to meet him) and he is just so calm and good for a 6mth old pup. Kristie is working really hard on the training and its obviously paying off already. Well done Kristie (and Jack and Mikey gold tooth )

Adorable boy and I shall look forward to seeing him grow and mature (I wonder how much longer those legs are going to get thumbs
